 My Story – Born and Raised in Alanya

My name is Halil, and I was born and raised in Alanya, in a farming family.

Because of our family's financial circumstances, I started working in tourism at a young age, during summer holidays and after school. Those early experiences taught me the value of hard work, hospitality and building relationships with people from different countries.

After graduating in Industrial Engineering, I found a job at a factory near Istanbul. However, just three months later, I realised that neither factory life nor living away from Alanya was right for me.

I decided to return home, and in October 2006, I began my career in real estate.

Since then, Alanya has changed enormously, and I have been fortunate to grow professionally alongside the city I love.

Over the years, I have helped international clients buy and sell properties in Alanya. Many of my customers have become lifelong friends. They return year after year, visit our office for a coffee and recommend us to their families and friends.

we are not successful with digital advertisement, but, I have always believed that our best advertisement is a happy customer.

For me, real estate has never been just about selling properties. It is about earning trust and maintaining relationships long after the sale.

Growing Beyond Real Estate – Always Listening to Our Customers

As Basic Apartment grew, we realised that our customers needed more than real estate services.

We began helping them with airport transfers, apartment cleaning, grocery shopping before their arrival, bill payments and everyday property-related matters.

Initially, we outsourced our airport transfers. However, after receiving a serious safety complaint about luggage moving into the passenger area during sudden braking, I asked our transportation provider to introduce protective measures.

When they told me it was not possible, I decided to purchase our own vehicles and establish Bizimtransfer.

The early years were financially challenging, but we continued improving our services. Thanks to the trust and support of our customers, Bizimtransfer grew into one of the Mediterranean region's major airport transfer companies, serving destinations across Turkey and internationally.

Our journey into construction began for a different reason.

While working in real estate, I noticed that most new developments focused on smaller apartments. Spacious, single-level 3+1 and 4+1 homes were difficult to find.

We decided to develop the kind of properties we felt were missing: larger family apartments in modern buildings with swimming pools and elevators.

Our first project involved approximately 8,000 of construction area. We completed it successfully, but despite all our efforts, we made no profit.

We did not give up.

Today, we have completed five construction projects, and our sixth development, The Colosseum, in which we are a construction and development partner, is scheduled for completion in February 2027.

What Basic Apartment Means Today

Today, Basic Apartment offers more than traditional real estate services.

In addition to helping international clients buy and sell properties, we provide ongoing after-sales assistance, including property management, bill payments, renovation support and 24/7 customer assistance.

We also offer selected properties from our own portfolio without charging buyers an agency commission. Thanks to our financial resources, we can also consider purchasing properties directly from owners when we agree on the price and conditions.

Despite the growth of our businesses, our philosophy remains the same.

Alanya is not simply where I work. It is where I was born, where I grew up and where I chose to build my life.

And after all these years, I am still doing what I enjoy most: helping people find their place in Alanya.
